Montefiascone is placed to 640 meters high, on the hills overlooking the Lake of Bolsena.
From this privileged position you can enjoy a unique landscape that goes from Maremma to the Tyrrhenian Sea, from the Cimini mountains of Umbria, to those of Tolfa.
The fertile valley that surrounds the city embodies orchards, olive groves and vineyards that give rise, among other things, the production of the famous wine "Est! Est !! Est !!!".
Of particular historical interest in the city it is to be reported:
-
• Rocca dei Papi, the highest point of the city panorama, today it is often used for cultural events
-
• The Cathedral of St. Margherita (1605), whose majestic dome by Carlo Fontana, is the third largest in Italy, after St. Peter's in Rome and St. Maria del Fiore in Florence
-
•- The Romanesque-Gothic Basilica of S.Flaviano, whose facade is decorated with a Renaissance loggia from which the Popes looked out to bless the faithful.
